Villa Bel Colle: Demolition and Reconstruction of a Maremma Farmhouse with Sea View

The Villa Bel Colle project in Scansano (GR) is a comprehensive demolition and reconstruction commission for a Swiss couple seeking to create their dream home in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma.

The primary focus of the project was to enhance the plot's privileged position. The new building was oriented and designed to maximize the spectacular panoramic view that stretches across the rolling hills to the Tuscan coastline. Our goal was to create a villa that seamlessly blends the warmth of traditional rural architecture with the highest standards of modern comfort and contemporary design.

The Project: A Harmony of Maremma Tradition and Contemporary Design

The essence of this intervention lies in the delicate balance between respecting the local architectural language and integrating modern elements.

• Traditional Elements: The building's envelope is a tribute to the region's history. We utilized hand-laid dry stone cladding to root the structure into the landscape. The interiors feature ceilings with large exposed wooden beams and terracotta tiles (pianelle), while travertine was selected for thresholds and windowsills to ensure material continuity.

• Modern Details and Furnishings: The rugged materiality of the structure is balanced by a rigorous selection of modern details. Minimalist fixtures, clean lines, and bespoke designer furniture create bright, sophisticated spaces designed for relaxation and social living.

• Outdoor Living and Resin Pool: Great care was taken with the landscaping, developed in close collaboration with landscape architect Fabiano Crociani, to harmonize the garden with the surrounding woodlands. The centerpiece of the outdoor space is the stunning swimming pool, entirely finished in sand-colored resin, creating a natural effect that blends visually with the marine horizon.

A Single Point of Contact

Our approach is based on the comprehensive management of the entire project. We act as Project Managers for the whole intervention, from demolition to "turnkey" delivery. This provides our clients with a single point of reference for both architectural and interior design. For specialized tasks, we rely on a consolidated network of local artisans and trusted professionals, all directly coordinated and supervised by our studio to guarantee exceptional quality and adherence to deadlines.
