Il Poderino, San Giovanni D'Asso, Montalcino (SI), Tuscany
Contemporary Restoration steps away from Val d'Orcia.
The renovation of the Il Poderino farmhouse is a prime example of what we define as a "second-generation restoration." We frequently work on historic properties that were previously renovated—often during the 1990s—which now require a significant update to meet modern living standards and aesthetic expectations.
Our primary objective was to refunctionalize the spaces, upgrade the systems to the highest modern comfort standards, and design bespoke interiors. This project was commissioned by an American family whose dream was to transform this historic property into their ideal Tuscan holiday home.

The Project: Blending Tradition and Modernity.
While the changes to the internal layout were surgical and targeted, the essence of the intervention lies in the meticulous attention to detail and materials. Studio Feri Associati curated every aspect of the design:
-
Finishes and Materials: We selected traditional Tuscan materials, reimagining them with a contemporary twist. This included a deep focus on flooring, wall coverings, plasters, and a color palette that harmonizes with the surrounding landscape.
-
Bespoke Interiors: Every interior element was custom-designed and handcrafted, showcasing and elevating local craftsmanship.
-
Outdoor and Annexes: The project included the restoration of a small agricultural annex and the creation of a swimming pool, seamlessly integrated into the rural charm of San Giovanni d'Asso.
